My name is Amy Bream, and I’m an adaptive CrossFit athlete, speaker and trainer with a passion for challenging myself with new boundaries and limits. I was born with a condition called PFFD, meaning I’m missing the majority of my right leg. I’ve lived in Nashville since 2014, but ya’ girl is originally from a small town in PA, where I grew up the youngest of four kids.
I moved to Nashville with the intention of pursuing a music career, and somewhere along the way began sharing my story about growing up with a birth defect. I didn’t even start to workout in public settings until joining a kickboxing gym in 2015. I began competing in CrossFit on a professional level in 2021, and have experienced firsthand the power of intentionality and consistency in being able to change one’s life.
When I’m not on the competition floor, I serve as a public motivational speaker and online trainer for lower amputees.
Lower amputees, I can help you learn to adapt with your prosthesis and gain confidence in life and in the gym.
Navigating one leg life can be very overwhelming. It’s hard to understand your physical limits and how to adapt to daily life activities.
You shouldn’t have to do it alone, and that’s where I come in.
Check out my lower adaptive program options, which cover anything from learning the basics of balancing on the prosthesis to crushing a workout in the gym. 👇

I have witnessed my life completely transform in the past 10 years. I’ve gone from the girl who refused to show her prosthesis and avoided all things athletic, to becoming a competitive sponsored athlete.
As crazy and wonderful of a journey that has been, what I love most is telling people how I got here. To tell people exactly what small changes I made to ultimately create such drastic, positive growth in my life. In the last few years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing those insights as a public speaker.

Walking into the gym can be intimidating, especially if you’re a new face or don’t have a plan to follow.
Good news is, you don’t have to allow intimidation to convince that you don’t belong. Because you do.
You have the capacity to learn and gain strength, by just taking one small step at a time.
I designed my barbell workout program, Small Steps, Big Gains, with exactly that thought in mind. Get in and out of the gym within an hour, gain confidence by building strength and aerobic capacity, and improve by focusing on the details.

I just want to write a little note to let you know that I'm really loving this program. I know I said it before, but after each workout, I feel so strong and that I accomplished something. I also like the fact that you sprinkle in the functional stuff for us AK's. I'm over 50 and I've never bothered to walk step over step down the stairs in all my life. I never made myself try and practice it either. Since this practice is built in the program, I've been doing it. The other day, I was leaving a building and went down the 4 steps step over step instead of one at a time (while holding the railing). It was a nice accomplishment. It's the little things :-).

I’m finally starting to get feelings of normalcy again since my amputation almost 3 years ago. Being able to stand up and not be searching for balance, being able to carry a laptop and coffee across my office for a meeting, get a beer at the bar and not have to ask a friend to carry it for me to our seats. The balance and proprioception exercises were key in those little but important life gains.

This killed me.” [referring to an exercise] “I was thrilled to see the improvement without bands however. My depth has improved drastically in only a month!
